Origins & Roots Born in the vibrant coastal city of Busan, South Korea, Sim Sun-kyung—globally known as Cherry Coke—grew up immersed in a rich auditory environment. Her early exposure to hip-hop and R&B was heavily shaped by her mother, whose eclectic musical tastes planted the seeds for Cherry Coke's lifelong passion for soulful rhythms and groove-driven melodies.
Training & Formative Years Balancing her life between Busan and Seoul as industry scouts began to take notice, she honed her distinct vocal delivery and songwriting skills. Adopting the moniker Cherry Coke because of its fizzy, memorable resonance with her musical style, she took her first professional steps in 2014 under her birth name with the single 'Beautiful Things'.
Breakthrough & Ascension Her transition into a distinctive sonic architect materialized through critically praised independent releases that blurred conventional genre lines. Though a brief stint with CJ E&M in 2017 provided corporate experience, her true artistic identity flourished upon returning to independence, culminating in memorable television exposure on the Mnet and AOMG reality show 'SignHere' in 2019.
