Origins & Roots Born in Yakutsk and raised amidst the stark, breathtaking landscapes of the Sakha Republic, Anzhela Andreyevna Zhirkova—known globally as Green Apelsin—developed an early connection to narrative traditions. Raised by her grandparents in the remote village of Belaya Gora, she absorbed local folklore, traditional customs, and nature's quiet solitude.
Formative Training Her artistic journey took institutional shape when she attended music school for piano and later graduated from the Primorye Krai Arts College's Academic Vocal branch. Long before formal training, however, she was already exploring teenage emotions through melody, penning her first compositions and sharing acoustic vocal covers online.
Breakthrough & Ascension The turning point arrived when her hauntingly unique covers, notably Moana’s soundtrack, captured public imagination. In October 2021, she released her debut EP “Winds of the North” under Sony Music Entertainment Russia, instantly establishing her signature blend of eerie folklore, orchestral grandeur, and contemporary indie pop.
Global Acclaim & Partnerships Green Apelsin quickly built an ardent international following known as 'Apelsinki'. Her standout tracks like “Curse Of A Mermaid” showcase her mastery in fusing dark storytelling with mesmerizing vocal textures, cementing her status as a distinctive voice bridging regional Russian culture with global streaming audiences.
Artistic Philosophy & Legacy Beyond music, she finds solace in painting modern art canvas pieces, drawing inspiration from mythology and fantasy animation. Balancing her atmospheric artistry with a quiet, grounded lifestyle, Green Apelsin continues to expand her unique sonic universe, promising even more experimental vocal textures in her enduring legacy.
