Origins & Roots Born on January 1, 2000, in Gwangju, South Korea, Choi Raesung entered the world right at the turn of the new millennium, a milestone that would later inspire his iconic stage moniker. Growing up with an intense passion for rhythm and melody, he exhibited extraordinary musical intuition from an early age, prompting his family to support his early artistic endeavors.
Trainee Years & Auditions Raesung's breakthrough into the professional sphere began when he stunned judges and viewers alike on the popular survival competition program K-Pop Star at a remarkably tender age. His undeniable genius immediately caught the attention of YG Entertainment scouts, leading him to sign as an elite trainee in 2013 where he honed his craft alongside future stars in the Silver Boys lineup.
The Transition to Production Rather than debuting strictly as an idol performer, Raesung made the pivotal choice at the end of 2017 to transition fully into the realm of music production. This bold pivot allowed him to channel his deep technical and creative capabilities into shaping landmark tracks for major YG acts, most notably contributing extensive songwriting and arrangement credits to iKON's definitive discography.
Underground Ascension Operating under secretive pseudonyms like 'Balloon' and 'Yunghoodieboi' on SoundCloud alongside creative allies like Hanbin, Raesung co-founded the influential underground collective F'Club and the producer crew White Noise Club. Through these clandestine channels, he bypassed corporate restrictions to release boundary-pushing independent music that resonated deeply with global connoisseurs.
Legacy & Philosophy Today, MILLENNIUM stands as a testament to uncompromising artistic vision and tireless studio dedication. Balancing high-profile corporate production work with authentic underground experimentation, he continues to leave an indelible mark on modern Korean popular music, cementing his status as one of his generation's most brilliant sonic architects.
