Origins & Roots Night Off emerged as a special South Korean male indie project duo consisting of two highly respected figures in the alternative scene: eAeon and Neungryong. Formed with the conceptual essence of a 'night when you are allowed to go out' or a 'night without work,' the project was envisioned as a rare, liberating sonic escape for artists who had spent long years toiling within their respective primary bands.
Formative Encounters The creative partnership between eAeon and Neungryong traces its roots back to 2009 when the two musicians first crossed paths. Having both established deep artistic credibility—eAeon through his work with MOT and solo endeavors, and Neungryong as a core member of Sister’s Barbershop—their mutual admiration laid a solid foundation for a future collaboration that fans would eagerly anticipate for nearly a decade.
The Breakthrough On June 28, 2018, the duo officially debuted under Poclanos with their evocative single album, Take a Night Off. The release served as an immediate masterclass in atmospheric indie rock, blending eAeon’s signature haunting vocals and poignant lyricism with Neungryong’s intricate, textured guitar arrangements, captivating listeners across South Korea's discerning music circles.
