Origins & Roots Formed under Seven Seasons as the second official sub-unit of the legendary South Korean boy group Block B, T2U brought together two distinct powerhouses: main vocalist Taeil and lead dancer/vocalist U-Kwon. Their conception was specifically tailored to captivate the Japanese audience, bridging Korean hip-hop roots with delicate Japanese melodic sensibilities.
Training & Formation Both Taeil and U-Kwon underwent rigorous foundational training alongside their Block B labelmates, enduring years of vocal coaching, choreography drills, and artistic development before making their historic group debut in 2011. When the decision was made to craft a Japanese-focused unit, their years of stage chemistry and contrasting artistic strengths made them the definitive choice.
The Breakthrough On September 26, 2018, T2U officially debuted with their self-titled mini-album 'T2U'. The release immediately resonated with international fans and Japanese music charts, showcasing Taeil's soaring, emotive high notes alongside U-Kwon's charismatic stage presence and bilingual fluency.
Global Acclaim & Milestones Beyond their musical output, the duo successfully navigated mandatory military service hiatuses between 2019 and 2021, returning stronger than ever. Their ability to maintain dedicated fanbases across both Korea and Japan solidified their reputation as versatile artists capable of sustaining long-term commercial relevance.
