Origins & Roots Trick originally emerged in July 2013 under Star Cubic Entertainment as a dynamic pre-debut dance team known as S-Trick. Formed by passionate trainees Minseok, Kichan, Hyunsung, Ikhyun, and Daehan, the collective was built upon a fierce foundation of street dance and synchronized choreography. Their early days were defined by relentless studio hours and grassroots performances designed to capture the attention of K-pop scouts.
Training & Lineup Evolution Operating under rigorous trainee standards, the group underwent several formative adjustments. In early 2014, member Minho departed the lineup, making room for Ikhyun to join the crew and breathe fresh creative energy into their rehearsals. Despite membership shifts, the team maintained an unyielding work ethic, spending countless nights perfecting their routine and signature greeting 'Trick or Treat!'
Breakthrough & Expectations By mid-2014, Star Cubic Entertainment officially confirmed that the group was transitioning from a dance team into a fully-fledged boy group named Trick. Anticipation steadily mounted among early underground fans as they prepared concept photos, showcase routines, and music video teasers that promised a distinctive conceptual edge.
Trials & Administrative Hurdles Despite their immense dedication and undeniable raw talent, the harsh realities of the South Korean entertainment industry caught up with the agency. Unforeseen administrative hurdles and corporate restructuring at Star Cubic Entertainment disrupted their launch timeline, ultimately stalling their official debut track.
Legacy & Quiet Dissolution Trick disbanded quietly between late 2014 and early 2015 without ever releasing an official commercial single. Though their official journey was cut short, the members successfully transitioned into subsequent musical ventures, K-pop groups like APL and NewUs, and entrepreneurial careers, cementing a bittersweet legacy in K-pop history.
