Origins & Roots Formed initially as BLACKOUT on January 17, 2011, Da-iCE emerged from the vibrant underground dance and vocal scene in Japan before rebranding into a polished artistic collective. The name itself is a brilliant fusion of 'DANCE' and 'DICE', where the five members represent the five sides of a die, waiting for their supporters to complete the sixth side.
Training & Formative Years Before making their official major debut under Universal Sigma on January 15, 2014, with the single 'SHOUT IT OUT', the members underwent rigorous training in choreography, vocal stability, and stage presence. The inclusion of twin vocalists Yudai Ohno and Sota Hanamura provided a rare four-octave vocal range that immediately set them apart from contemporary boy groups.
The Breakthrough Da-iCE skyrocketed to widespread acclaim through relentless touring, intricate choreography, and an evolving musical style that blended R&B, pop, and dance. Their artistic turning point arrived with monumental releases like 'CITRUS', which demonstrated unprecedented vocal mastery and emotional depth, establishing them as elite hitmakers across Japanese charts.
Landmark Honors The group's dedication culminated in historic victories at the Japan Record Awards, winning the prestigious 63rd Award for 'CITRUS' and the Excellent Work Award at the 64th Awards for 'Star Mine'. Alongside their musical triumphs, individual members expanded their footprints into fashion curation, acting, radio hosting, and successful solo projects.
Legacy & Philosophy Operating under Avex Trax, Da-iCE embeds the lowercase 'ai' (愛—love in Japanese) into their identity, symbolizing their commitment to creating art driven by genuine passion. Today, alongside their dedicated fandom 'Rokumen', Da-iCE continues to redefine the boundaries of J-pop performance and artistry on a global scale.
