Origins & Roots Born Jeong Seungbo in Ilsan, South Korea, Dann’s early life took a remarkably cosmopolitan turn when his family relocated to Dubai when he was ten years old. Growing up in the United Arab Emirates, he attended an international English school where he immersed himself in foreign languages, picking up fluent English, French, and conversational Arabic alongside his native Korean and Chinese. This unique upbringing shaped his global perspective and instilled a deep appreciation for cross-cultural communication.
Formative Years & Early Trials Long before stepping onto a K-pop stage, Dann harbored aspirations of becoming an actor and even immersed himself in studying English by watching 'The Lord of the Rings' hundreds of times. However, a profound awakening through music shifted his ambitions toward singing. His first major professional stride came in January 2017 when he debuted under the stage name Seungbo with the multinational boy group VARSITY. Despite the group's eventual disbandment in April 2020, Dann's resilience remained unshaken as he navigated survival shows like _MIXNINE_ and honed his performance repertoire.
The Breakthrough & Ascension A defining chapter unfolded on February 18, 2021, when he re-debuted under GF Entertainment as Dann, the charismatic leader and vocalist of The KingDom. Known for their intricate cinematic concepts and royal aesthetics, The KingDom carved a distinct niche in the global music scene. Dann played an instrumental role in shaping the group’s musical identity, contributing lyrics to their b-side tracks and executing complex choreography with peerless precision.
Landmark Honors & Global Impact Beyond music, Dann’s linguistic prowess and stage presence opened unique doors, including working as a KCON translator in Dubai at age 19 and walking the runway for Vanilla in 2017. His multifaceted talents earned him adoration from fans worldwide, known affectionately as 'Kingmakers'. He bridged cultural gaps effortlessly, transforming international experiences into a sophisticated artistic vocabulary that elevated The KingDom’s global footprint.
Artistic Philosophy & Legacy Dann’s philosophy centers on empathy, responsibility, and an unrelenting pursuit of artistic evolution. Even while managing the rigorous demands of idol life—and later embarking on his mandatory military service in September 2025—he maintained a reputation for deep care toward his members and fans. His journey from an expatriate youth in Dubai to a pillar of modern K-pop stands as an inspiring testament to adaptability, passion, and enduring artistic legacy.
