Origins & Roots Formed in the vibrant underground indie scene of South Korea, GIFT (기프트) emerged as a breath of fresh air in a market dominated by electronic pop. Rooted in traditional rock instrumentation combined with modern lyrical vulnerability, the trio—comprising Kim Hyung Woo, Lee Joo Hyuk, and Hwi Gyeom Jeong—found common ground in their relentless pursuit of authentic musical storytelling.
Training & Formative Trials Before achieving widespread renown, each member honed their craft through rigorous practice schedules and underground club performances. Facing the traditional hurdles of independent bands in South Korea, they relied on sheer grit, rehearsing for endless hours to achieve their signature tight, cohesive sound.
The Breakthrough Their official debut on May 10, 2018, under ROXTAMUZIK&LIVE marked the beginning of their ascent. A monumental turning point arrived when vocalist Lee Joo Hyuk and bassist Kim Hyung Woo participated in the hit JTBC survival show 'SuperBand,' where their exceptional talents earned glowing praise from industry icons like NELL’s Kim Jong-wan and Yoon Jong-shin.
