Origins & Roots Formed in April 2013 under WS Entertainment, Gilgubongu—frequently recognized as GB9—emerged during an era dominated by high-energy dance groups, choosing instead to anchor their identity in raw vocal prowess and timeless acoustic balladry. Comprising members Gilgu and Bonggu, the duo derived their unique stage moniker from their birth names, laying the foundational groundwork for a career built on honest storytelling and vocal harmony.

Training & Formative Trials Long before stepping onto the professional stage, both members endured rigorous vocal training regimes, refining their pitch control, emotional delivery, and breath support. Navigating the competitive landscape of South Korea’s independent and mainstream music scene required immense patience, discipline, and countless hours in practice studios perfecting their signature harmonies.

Tracks like 'This Is Us' resonated deeply across South Korea, propelling the duo from underground recording artists into revered mainstays of contemporary Korean ballad music, earning them critical acclaim and devoted fandom support.
