Origins & Roots Born in South Korea and raised in Vancouver, Canada, hanuel grew up immersed in a culturally rich environment. Raised within a church community, music was an ever-present force in his daily life from an early age, laying the groundwork for his deep connection to melodies and instrumentation.
Musical Awakening His early exposure to church music sparked a natural curiosity for instruments. hanuel first mastered the guitar before expanding his musical palette to include drums and keyboard keys, allowing him to comprehend harmony and rhythm from multiple instrumental dimensions.
Finding Confidence Navigating his early identity as an artist brought moments of self-doubt, particularly regarding his vocal timbre. However, discovering the music of Keshi provided the vital artistic validation and confidence hanuel needed to fully embrace his unique voice and launch his solo career.
Artistic Philosophy For hanuel, songwriting is an act of profound vulnerability. He draws deep inspiration from friends' lived experiences and emotional journeys, channeling intimate stories into relatable lofi soundscapes that invite listeners to interpret narratives through their own personal lenses.
Future Legacy Having cut his teeth opening for artists like JUNNY, hanuel's ultimate ambition is to headline his own global tours and dedicate himself entirely to full-time music creation, cementing a lasting footprint in modern independent R&B and lofi scenes.
