Origins & Roots Born in the heart of Seoul, Park Soyeon, known professionally as Mew, grew up with a profound affinity for both mathematics and music. While her analytical mind thrived in academic settings, the emotional resonance of melody eventually claimed her full devotion, leading her to pursue music as a formal major.
Training & Formative Trials Her journey began in the indie sphere as the main vocalist of the duo Norwegian Wood, where she performed under the name Soyeon. These formative years provided her with the stage presence and vocal discipline necessary to navigate the competitive South Korean music industry.
Breakthrough Moment After departing from her duo in 2018-2019, she underwent a period of artistic reinvention. Briefly performing as Soyi, she eventually rebranded as Mew—a name suggested by her agency staff—marking her transition into a distinct solo identity.
