Origins & Roots Park Jihu was born on November 7, 2003, in Daegu, South Korea, growing up with an innate curiosity and a profound sensitivity toward human emotion. From a young age, she displayed an artistic inclination, often immersing herself in creative pursuits that foreshadowed her eventual journey into the performing arts. Her upbringing in Daegu provided a grounded, nurturing environment that later fueled the emotional depth she brings to her complex onscreen characters.
Early Trials & Training Entering the entertainment industry during her early adolescence, Jihu balanced rigorous academic schedules with auditions and initial acting roles. She practiced Aikido during her childhood, cultivating a physical discipline and mental resilience that would prove invaluable during grueling film shoots. Her early formative years involved stepping into diverse minor roles, building a steadfast work ethic and learning the subtle nuances of cinematic storytelling from veteran directors and crew members.
The Breakthrough Moment Her international watershed moment arrived with her spellbinding lead performance as Eunhee in Kim Bora’s critically acclaimed indie masterpiece 'House of Hummingbird' (2018). Jihu’s portrayal of a lonely adolescent navigating the tumultuous socio-political climate of 1994 Seoul captured global attention, earning her widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including Best New Actress at the Tribeca Film Festival. This tour de force established her instantly as one of her generation's most compelling dramatic actresses.
Global Ascension & Honors Following her indie triumph, Jihu seamlessly transitioned into mainstream mega-hits, cementing her international status. Her portrayal of Nam Onjo in Netflix’s global zombie phenomenon 'All of Us Are Dead' (2022) and her gripping role as Oh Inhye in the prestige drama 'Little Women' (2022) propelled her into global stardom. Her mantle quickly accumulated prestigious honors, including the APAN Star Award for Best New Actress, cementing her dual mastery of independent arthouse cinema and high-profile television blockbusters.
Legacy & Artistic Philosophy Beyond her technical range, Park Jihu’s artistic philosophy centers on raw authenticity and profound empathy for her characters. Currently studying at Hanyang University’s Theatre and Film Department, she continually hones her craft while remaining remarkably grounded.
