Origins & Roots Formed under the boutique banner of dsm Entertainment, Pride Band (프라이드 밴드) emerged into the South Korean underground and indie music scene with a distinct vision: to forge an authentic path as an all-female instrumental rock and pop band. Originally debuting as a dynamic quintet on August 1, 2011, the ensemble captured early attention for their raw musicianship and unconventional aesthetic in an industry heavily dominated by synchronized dance troupes.
Training & Lineup Evolution The group's journey was characterized by immense perseverance through extended hiatuses and structural transformations. Following the departure of original members Hyein, Bomi, and Yeonhee, the band underwent a profound metamorphosis. Remaining members rallied to restructure their artistic identity, welcoming new talent and shifting instrumental roles to preserve the core soul of the band.
The Re-debut & Ascension On July 24, 2017, Pride Band triumphantly returned with a reorganized trio lineup featuring Sohyun on bass, Yeoeun on guitar, and Yubeen on drums. This sophomore chapter showcased a mature sonic landscape, blending melodic rock sensibilities with refined instrumental mastery that struck a chord with dedicated underground music connoisseurs.
Landmark Honors & Legacy Despite operating within the challenging landscape of independent artist management, Pride Band cultivated a fiercely loyal international fanbase. Their digital presence, highlighted by unique creator links and intimate social connection, solidified their reputation as trailblazers for independent female instrumentalists in South Korea.
Artistic Philosophy Pride Band remains a testament to resilience, artistic integrity, and the enduring power of live instrumentation. Their refusal to conform to mainstream idol molds cements their legacy as a cult-favorite underground phenomenon.
