Origins & Roots RGS, standing for Rainbow Gage Squad, was conceived under the management of GT PARK as an ambitious pre-debut project in late 2021. The group was introduced with a distinct and transparent '300 days to debut' concept, designed to document the trials, triumphs, and daily training of its members leading up to their official launch.
Training & Lineup Shifts Throughout their formative period, the roster underwent numerous adjustments. Originally slated for a seven-member debut in July 2022, plans shifted toward a five-member configuration with a delayed August rollout. Trainees such as Gunhee, Jeongmin, Junhyeon, Hyeongseok, Inho, and Woori participated in various capacities through social media teasers and introductory videos.
The Quiet Disbandment Despite initial enthusiasm from underground K-pop followers and teaser releases on YouTube and Instagram, logistical hurdles and shifting agency strategies caused the project to stall. The group quietly disbanded in early 2022 without ever releasing an official commercial single.
Legacy & Post-RGS Paths Following the dissolution of RGS, the members dispersed into different corners of the entertainment industry. Several members successfully transitioned to other groups like WE US, EASTSHINE, and ANTARES, or pursued careers as professional dancers and soloists.
Cultural Impact Although RGS never saw a formal stage debut, they remain a notable footnotes in the complex ecosystem of K-pop trainee culture, highlighting the rigorous and unpredictable nature of the South Korean idol training system.
