Origins & Roots Born on June 18, 1998, in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, South Korea, Bae Sang-myeong—professionally known as SayMe—grew up immersed in a culturally rich environment. Raised with a strong spiritual foundation, his early life was deeply connected to his church community, where music served as an everyday sanctuary. These formative years in Daegu planted the seeds for an enduring passion for acoustic expression and melody.
Training & Formative Trials His musical journey took a definitive turn at age fourteen when he began learning the drums during seventh grade. Inspired by watching AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk on Kpop Star 2, SayMe ventured into composition. Benefiting from basic harmony lessons taught by his organ-major mother, he largely taught himself music theory while honing his rhythm playing during high school worship services.
Breakthrough & Worldwide Ascension Interrupted briefly by mandatory military service, where he served honorably as a chemical soldier and praise team leader, SayMe officially stepped onto the musical landscape on February 25, 2021, with his debut digital single album 거짓말겁쟁이. His ability to blend indie sensibilities with refined production quickly attracted a dedicated following.

Balancing academic rigor from Chung-Ang University's Convergence Engineering department with his creative output, he stands as a resilient emblem of modern independent artistry in South Korea.
