Origins & Roots The Legend (전설) emerged onto the South Korean music scene under SS Entertainment, bringing together five distinct artists possessing exceptional vocal and performance capabilities: Listen, Roi, Jaehyuk, Lito, and Changsun. Formed with the aspiration to leave an indelible mark on the global K-pop landscape, the group combined diverse cultural backgrounds and rigorous training.
Training & Early Trials Before their grand debut, each member underwent extensive preparation, navigating the demanding trainee system. Listen completed his military service prior to joining, while members like Jaehyuk studied abroad in London and Roi trained within major entertainment ecosystems. Their collective determination forged a tight-knit bond that would sustain them through upcoming hardships.
Breakthrough & Ascending Sound On July 9, 2014, the quintet officially debuted with their single 'Left Out', showcasing their sophisticated R&B-infused vocal styling and sharp choreography. Lito actively contributed to songwriting, infusing tracks like 'Trace' and 'Lost' with genuine emotional depth, capturing the attention of dedicated early fans known as Herose.
Legal Battles & Disbandment Despite their immense talent and artistic output, the group faced severe structural obstacles. In July 2016, the members took bold legal action against their agency due to severe contract violations, lack of basic support, and unpaid earnings. Following a successful legal victory, the group officially disbanded in April 2017, prioritizing dignity and artistic freedom over compromise.
Enduring Legacy & Reunion Years after their disbandment, the members continued to pursue successful careers in music production, solo releases, and acting. In April 2024, Jaehyuk, Lito, and Changsun touched long-time supporters' hearts by reuniting under the unit name He'rose to release the single 'Honeymoon', cementing their timeless musical brotherhood.
